ABVO LEADERSHIP REQUIREMENTS

The ABVO is a Charter of the ACVO, charged with overseeing credentialing functions of the ACVO. It is an autonomous entity operating within the ACVO's bylaws and overseen by the AVMA's American Board of Veterinary Specialties.

A call for nominations for board positions will occur each May. All nominations need to be made to the ACVO office by May 31st. Desired qualities of a board member would include past involvement and/or Chair position on a credentialing committee when possible. All Diplomates will be provided with a short CV and list of qualifications provided by the candidate. Voting will commence each June in an online format. All boarded Diplomates are qualified to vote, it is their responsibility to keep their contact information up to date. If Diplomates wish to vote they will need to check this web site for email notices or view the annual call for nominations on the announcements page.

Committee positions are open to any boarded Diplomate of the College, but current ABVO board members may not serve concurrently on these committees. To volunteer for a committee, please submit a form to the ABVO office.
